The Township of Ocean Historical Museum
Preserving the Past for the Future
The Township Of Ocean Historical Museum is a cultural resource that invites the residents of central New Jersey to learn and respect our regional past. It is our mission to collect, preserve, and exhibit the records, memorabilia and artifacts that tell the story of Ocean Township and its surrounding communities and in that telling generate understanding, appreciation and enjoyment.
We are an open door to history--unlocking its treasure and creating a community, not limited by age or borders, informed and inspired by those who came before us.
EXHIBITS
ADMISSION IS ONLY $3.00 ~ CHILDREN ARE ADMITTED FREE
All exhibits are open to the public during regularly scheduled Museum hours.
There are three exhibit galleries:
The West Gallery contains frequently rotating historical exhibits.
The Our Town gallery contains an interesting historic prospective of Ocean Township.
The Hearth and Home gallery tells the story of how local life has changed over the years.

OUR PURPOSE
The Township of Ocean Historical Museum was founded:
to promote awareness and an appreciation for the history of the community.
to preserve that help illustrate the history of the area.
to prepare displays and exhibits and publish works that encourage understanding of local 

history.
to estlabish an archive of local print materials which can be used for research
to teach children about the development of the community from Indian days to the present.
to bring people together who are interested in the history of Ocean Township and the Shore area.
